Arjun Kapoor has come a long way from his first film 'Ishaqzaade'. Weighing 140 kgs, the actor never thought he would be a part of Bollywood as a star, until superstar Salman Khan entered his life.
With the actor giving credit to Salman, he says that his mother too said that Salman was Godsent.
"When I was an assistant, I spent a lot of time with him...I think it came from an emotional connect. My mother always said he is Godsent," Arjun said.
When Arjun was introduced to Bollywood, he worked as an assistant director on 'Salaam-E-Ishq' where Salman was a part of the film too. That is when the two shared a conversation together that changed Arjun's life.
"One night he (Salman) said you should become an actor and I looked at him and then I looked at myself. I said, 'You want me to become an actor? I am very happy being a director and I will write, I have no interest in acting'," Arjun said.
Salman told him that being a producer's son, Arjun can become a director anyday.
"He (Salman) said you will wake up 10 years from now regretting not giving acting a try. Give it your best shot. The worst that can happen is that you won't make it as an actor, but at least you have to try," Arjun further added.
Arjun will next be seen in 'Aurangzeb' that releases on May 17. The film also stars Rishi Kapoor, Jackie Shroff, Amrita Singh and South actor Prithviraj.
