Veteran music composer M. S. Viswanathan’s wife Janaki Viswanathan passed away in Chennai on Monday evening. She was 74 and was taken care by her husband, three daughters ( Latha, Madhu, Shanthi ) and four sons ( Gopi, Murali, Prakash and Hari ).
According to family sources, Janaki was suffering from kidney failure and was hospitalised. She failed to respond to the treatment and breathed her last at around 4.15 pm on Monday.
'The body is kept at the family’s Santhome residence and the cremation will be held on Tuesday,' the sources further said. 'A lot of Kollywood personalities have expressed grief and paid condolence to Janaki'.
Viswanthan, who is fondly referred as M.S.V. by millions of music lovers, ruled the Tamil film music for nearly four decades. Janaki was a pillar of support to him and took complete care of the family, even as M.S.V. was busy with his music commitments.
