After picking up the National Award in the Best Director category for his critically acclaimed film 'Shahid', Filmmaker Hansal Mehta is riding high on his revived confidence to take up bolder films.
He is now apparently planning to make a film on the life of homosexuals in our country.
He is reportedly appalled by their condition and wants to bring out their story onscreen.
And if sources are to be believed, he has already zeroed in on his lead star.
While he brought the best out of Rajkummar Rao in 'Shahid', he is looking forward to work with Nawazuddin Siddiqui this time.
According to the grapevine, Nawaz is considered to play the lead role of a gay character in the film which will revolve around the effect of article 377 on the lives of homosexuals.
However, Mehta is currently busy with his film 'City of Lights' and will concentrate on the Nawaz starrer only after wrapping up the aforementioned film.
