Ne-Yo's fiance to sponsor 48 children

10th February 2012

Ne-Yo's fiance Monyetta Shaw is sponsoring nearly 50 children.

TMZ reports that Monyetta, who became engaged to singer last September, has agreed to contribute towards the lives of 48 children in Swaziland, Africa.

Monyetta will not be bringing any of the children to her family home in the United States. Instead, she has agreed to cover each tot's living costs for one year.

Taking care of the needs of each child costs $30 per month which totals to $17,280 for 12 months.

Beyond the Game, a charity that provides children in Swaziland with clothes, food and education, initially contacted Monyetta about sponsoring one or two youngsters in need. When Monyetta saw Beyond the Game's brochure, she was compelled to extend her sponsorship to all 48 children featured.

Her partner is also deeply committed to philanthropy.

In October 2011 Ne-Yo held a fundraiser to benefit his charity The Compound Foundation that helps children in foster care and group homes.

Ne-Yo and Monyetta have 13-month old daughter Madilyn Grace and four-month-old son Mason Evan together.
