(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Nicole Scherzinger misses the energy and presence of the Pussycat Dolls when shes performing.
The singer shot to fame as the lead singer of the R&B girl band alongside fellow members Jessica Sutta, Kimberly Wyatt, Ashley Roberts and Melody Thornton.
Rumours of jealousy within the Pussycat Dolls began circulating at the end of last year, culminating in all of Nicoles bandmates deciding to leave and pursue solo projects. They have now been replaced by four new members.
Nicole has enjoyed a successful solo career, and is currently promoting her new track Poison. She has enjoyed performing the song on stage, but admits its tough being up there alone.
Obvious youve gotta be courageous and brave. Some of the girls left and wanted to pursue solo careers and in the end were all individuals, Im really happy for them. Dong solo stuff gave me the opportunity to continue music, which is what I love. Im more sad because I miss them on stage and their presence and energy, but I still carry it with me, she explained. But Im excited, because I love the music and the album Im working on. This is a great time for me.
Nicole is proud of her new material, and of how successful it has been. Its is edgier than what shes released before, and she feels a deep connection to it.
I feel unleashed. The music is just rocking out and its up tempo and makes you want to dance, she laughed.
Nicole stood in as a judge on UK talent contest The X Factor earlier this year, and loved it. She enjoyed discovering new talent, and has given some tips to people wanting to make it in the industry. The 32-year-old says the most important thing is to grab any opportunity youre given, and to practice wherever possible.
