The Producers’ Association in Kerala has decided to impose a ban on Nithya Menon, who is popular in Telugu with films such as "Ala Modalaindi" and "180", after she refused to talk to some of the producers who had gone to meet her at the location of a upcoming film.
However, the actress is having a sigh of relief, with the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA) members coming in support of her.
According to AMMA general secretary Idavela Babu, 'Nithya Menon is still acting in films. Our organisation will intervene if there is any move to ban her from acting in movies.'
'I don’t know why they are digging up the issue which we had already settled by giving an explanation,' he added.
In the meantime, many feel that the whole issue is a publicity stunt for the forthcoming Nithya film, "Tatsamayam Oru Penkutti".
