Olivia Wilde: I love awkward situations

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Olivia Wilde loves watching people in awkward situations.

The actress can next be seen in The Change-Up, which stars Ryan Reynolds and Jason Bateman as two men with completely opposite lives who end up switching bodies.

Olivia's character Sabrina McArdle is a love interest in the film, which she hopes does well. She knows people have seen characters swapping lives in the past, but believes it's something people will never tire of because of the element of "fantasy".

"The thing about body switching is the stakes are inevitably always really high, because you're gonna find yourself in awkward situations, and that's what people like to watch - or what I like to watch, at least," she said.

Jason's character Dave Lockwood has a happy home life with his family and a solid career. Ryan is Mitch Planko, who prefers to take things easy and chase women. The two stars had great fun shooting the picture, and worked hard to make it believable.

"I got a few of the mannerisms down... the slow-burn eyebrow raise that he does," Ryan said, when asked how hard it was to act as Jason.

His co-star explained the pair didn't want the movie to look too cartoony. They decided against fully impersonating each other, which he joked was a good thing "because we're not that talented, really".

"We just tried to play our versions of an idiot and a straight guy. It was easy. The script was so funny, we didn't want to distract from that by trying to do impersonations," he explained to Los Angeles Times. (C) Cover Media
