Our films do not objectify women, says Saif

22nd January 2013

Superstar Saif Ali Khan is currently aggressively promoting his forthcoming release 'Race 2'. And it was at one such media interaction where he, for the first time spoke about 'Women in Indian Films', a hot debate topic that has been raised by the moral police post the Delhi gang rape case.

Post the rape case, some conservative opinion leaders of the Indian society claimed that nudity and sexually explicit content in films provoke rapists to attack women.

While many stars of Bollywood have till date spoken against this unfair criticism, the latest to join the ever growing list is Saif where he condemned such unfair criticism.

Saif stated that Indian films never objectify women and if the detractors feel that in anyway films are provoking the rapists then they are wrong. He further added that the evil resides in the culprits mind and not in the films hence according to him it would be unfair to blame films for such evil issues in the Indian society.
