Piers Morgan has welcomed his fourth child.

The 46-year-old journalist and television presenter and his wife 34-year-old columnist Celia Walden greeted their first child with each other this month, the Daily Mail has reported.

Their daughter Elise was born at Cedars Sinai hospital in Beverly Hills, California.

The couple announced that they were expecting in June of this year.

The pair have been wed since June 2010.

Elise is Celia's first child and Piers' fourth child, as he has three teenage sons from his previous marriage to Marrion Shalloe, whom he divorced in 2008 after 20 years together.

Piers and Celia met years ago on a photo shoot for GQ magazine.

Piers proposed to his wife in Paris in 2009.

Piers had previously said he wanted last year's summer wedding to Celia to be a simple, classy affair. He admitted Simon Cowell, who he appeared on talent contest Britain's Got Talent with, wouldn't be attending, joking he didn't know if the music mogul would be able to turn up on time.

Simon was not bitter about being left off the guest list, and sent the happy couple his congratulations.

"I hate to admit it but I'm absolutely thrilled for the two of them. Having met Celia, I have no idea how he managed to pull this one off," he told British newspaper The Daily Mirror.
