Power star rules the small screen
20th July 2011
It is not for nothing that actor Puneet Rajkumar is called Power Star. Christened by fans after his stupendous performance in his 'Appu', the actor has gone from strength to strength. To this day, he is the top paid actor in the industry, getting close to Rs 2 crores.
Not surprising, given his hit-flop ratio in a nine-year-old career as hero. Now, he has conquered the small screen as well. His first-ever collaboration with director Yogaraj Bhat, 'Paramathma' has secured a whopping Rs 5 crores in TV rights – much before its completion!
With this, Appu leaves his elder brother Century Hero Shivarajkumar far behind. Shivanna's 100th film 'Jogaiah' has managed to bag Rs 3.5 crores in TV rights. Considering that a Kannada film secures an average of Rs. 40 to 80 lakhs in satellite rights, it is evident that Puneet is the TV channels' Paramathma as well.
