Prabhas lights up a storm

3rd October 2012

Not doing very well in the box office, Prabhas' latest flick 'Rebel', seems to be attracting crowd, but unfortunately for the wrong reasons.

Apparently a show was held where medical students and members of The Voice of Tabacco Victims, protested against the movie 'Rebel' at a multiplex in Jubilee Hills.

Yesterday, a crowd of students and youngsters joined the protest against the movie to pull down the posters where Prabhas is seen smoking. Dr. Vijay Anand Reddy, director of Apollo Cancer Hospital, stated that these pictures bring negative impact on youngsters and this should stop immediately.

The industry thinks that it is cool to put up posters and pictures like these, but it is important for them to also understand that these stars have many fans who worship them, and most of the youngsters walk on the same ground as they do.

When producer J. Bhagwan was contacted, he wasn't aware of any protest held, but he did receive a directive from the Censor Board to take down the posters. He did say that he will take off the posters, but he also mentioned that during every smoking scene in the movie, a warning is displayed to send out the message.
