(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Prince was reluctant to leave the stage at a UK festival last night, arguing there should be "no such thing as a curfew".
The 53-year-old pop icon was headlining the Hop Farm Music Festival in Kent, England, and wowed fans with an impressive two-and-a-quarter-hour set.
The singer played his classics such as Purple Rain, 1999 and Kiss to some 30,000 festival-goers, and returned to the stage for thee encores.
"I wish there wasn't no such thing as a curfew. Parties are supposed to go on 'til everyone's asleep," he enthused.
The multi-talented star was thrilled with the reception he received, as fans sang along to his greatest hits. The musician maintained some of his trademark arrogance, notably during a rendition of his 1983 smash Little Red Corvette.
"I've got 50,000 people singing this song. Ain't nobody else done that," he smiled.
According to British newspaper The Sun, Prince made some rather diva-like demands ahead of the concert. Apparently the musician asked for his dressing room to be rebuilt to match specific measurements, with staff backstage rebuilding the pod three times to get it exactly right. (C) Cover Media
