Playing the lead in a period film is definitely a brave step and Priyanka Chopra is ready to take this plunge. The lady has been approached for a film titled ‘Maqtassar’ that is a story spanned in over three eras of pre-independence, post-independence and the on-going. It is reported that her role might be inspired by the nightingale of India and freedom fighter Sarijini Naidu. However, nothing has been finalized yet.

Priyanka Chopra has always been experimental about her career and has been doing challenging roles like in ‘Fashion’, ‘Saat Khoon Maaf’ and now Anurag Basu’s ‘Barfee’. It is heard that Priyanka Chopra, after completing the shoot of ‘Barfee’ will start work on the International Music Album and post that will meet the makers of ‘Maqtassar’ for narration of the script.

If things go well, this will be the first time that Piggy Chops will go completely de-glam on the silver screen.
