Rajkummar Rao starrer 'Stree' rakes 31.75 cr in its first week

Amar Kaushik directorial 'Stree' a horror-comedy released on 31st August is rolling in the box-office right away from the first day of its release. Starring Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor in the lead, the film earned rave reviews from the critic as well as the audiences and it started off well collecting 6.75 cr on Friday.

The film managed to almost double its collection tally on Saturday and raked a sum of 10.50 cr on its second day. The film minted a staggering amount of 14.50 cr on Sunday. Stree stands with 31.75cr in its first-weekend box-office collection. With this, this Rajkummar Rao starrer easily wins over the competitor 'Yamla Pagla Deewana Phir Se' that only managed to mint 3.26 crore in the first two days. 

It is the directorial debut of Amar Kaushik with 'Stree' which has been written by Raj Nidimoru & DK. The horror-comedy is inspired by the "ridiculously true phenomenon" of 'Nale Ba' a true tale from South. In the film, Rajkummar Rao plays a tailor by profession named Vicky who meets a suspicious female character played by Shraddha Kapoor.

The film revolves around three friends in the town of Chanderi, Madhya Pradesh, which is haunted by a spirit called 'Stree' who haunts men and takes them away by just leaving their clothes.
