Bollywood superstar Ranbir Kapoor won all the 'Best Actor' awards for his commendable performance in the film 'Rockstar'. But it has been his much awaited and anticipated film 'Barfi' that has kept everyone's eyes glued to him.
The film that has been in the making for over a year now recently raised the anticipation by leaps and bounds when the team released its first promo.
Directed by Anurag Basu, the film has Ranbir playing a deaf and mute character who cons people for his living. Even though he plays a physically challenged person, his character is shown with colorful streaks of fun, for which he apparently drew inspirations from iconic onscreen characters like 'Mr. Bean', 'Charlie Chaplin' and his grandfather Raj Kapoor's memorable characters as a happy-go-lucky guy in his films.
Ranbir confessed that following these characters helped him to a great extent, "My role surely isn't based on any of these characters, but yes I do have got influenced with their body language which is pretty evident in the promos. Influence especially came most importantly from my grandfather Mr. Raj Kapoor who is the master of all. After all, I'm his grandson; such acts are expected of me," said Ranbir who already is being complimented for his performance.
Though it is just a promo, Ranbir's magnetism as an actor is already speaking volumes through his character that has already attracted a lot of people towards it.
The film also stars Priyanka Chopra and South Indian debutant Ileana D'Cruz in the lead and is slated to release on September 14, 2012.
