Ranbir is optimistic about Kishore da's biopic

8th January 2013

After gaining critical acclaim for his performance as a dumb and mute small time conman in the film 'Barfi', Ranbir Kapoor was signed by the film's director Anurag Basu for yet another project that is based on the life of legendary singer Kishore Kumar.

The biopic has been in news ever since it has been conceptualized and Ranbir is excited to be a part of the anticipated film. However, he is cautious of the fact that there will be loads of pressure and expectations from him for this film.

"Everyone knows who Kishore Kumar was. And now that I've got a chance to live his life onscreen, I'll try to do full justice to it," said Ranbir.

He further added that a singer contributes heavily in an actor's career and hence it becomes an actor's prime duty to give them their due credit. "Kishore da has sung for my father and has churned out many hits for him. Singers like Mukeshji, Mohammed Rafi and Kishore da have given super hits for actors like Dharmendra and Mr. Amitabh Bachchan. We must all credit them for their contribution," Ranbir further added.

However, both Ranbir and Anurag are extremely busy with their respective films and hence will begin shooting the biopic only by next year.
