Not very long ago, Ranveer Singh was not a much known personality in the industry.
When the first glimpses of his debut film 'Band Baaja Baaraat' had released, the world pondered as to how a not-so-conventional-looking guy was casted as the lead in a Yash Raj film.
But after the film's release, all the doubts sank without a trace, as Ranveer was accepted with open arms. His talent and performance impressed one and all.
However, Ranveer claims that if not for one person's immense faith in him, he wouldn't have been in the position that he enjoys today.
Ranveer, recently publicly confessed that he owes his success to Yash Raj's head honcho Aditya Chopra.
"Adi sir is my mentor and at the time he selected me to do 'Band Baaja Baaraat' he had the fortitude to take an unknown face and a guy from nowhere, who was not the best looking guy in the world and give him a lead role in such a fantastic film," said Ranveer.
"Everyone's opinion about me was not positive when he decided to cast me. He had a sole conviction in me. I will always be indebted to him for that. He taught me values and principles of how to go about with your work," added Ranveer who will be next seen in Vikramaditya Motwane's 'Lootera', Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'Ram Leela' and Yash Raj's 'Aurangzeb'.
