(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Rihanna says not being afraid to make mistakes has made her a star.
The 22-year-old is one of the most successful female singers in the world and she has worked with a host of big names including Jay-Z, Kanye West, Eminem and Justin Timberlake. Rihanna believes her confident attitude and desire to experiment has made her into a chart-topping artist. She isnt afraid of failure and that has allowed her to be more daring when it comes to her career and personal life.
"If I was scared to do something wrong I wouldn't be where I am today, she explained to Bravo. And that would totally restrict me. You learn from your mistakes.
To remember that every day I got a tattoo of the sentence 'Never a failure always a lesson' mirror-inverted under my collarbone. Now I can read that sentence every day in the mirror."
Rihanna says her mother, Monica Fenty, instilled a great deal of self-assurance in her from a young age. The Barbados-born star admires her moms inner strength and says she was always taught to face tough challenges with confidence.
"It wasn't all great in my childhood. But there are a lot of positive memories as well and I have to thank my mom for them, Rihanna added. I learned so much from her: for example to take responsibility for the things I am doing. She also taught me not to be scared by leaving me free to do things. My mom let me make my own experiences. And that was very important for me to become the self-confident young woman I am today." (C) Cover Media
