(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Rihanna insists she "hates drama" but is bothered when her life is perfect.

The 23-year-old Barbadian singer shared her feelings in the September issue of Glamour magazine, where she admitted to liking a challenge and not being happy about being called a role model.

The S&M singer, who is currently on her Loud tour, said that she is bizarrely bothered when everything is going well.

"I hate drama, but at the same time, nothing bothers me more than when life's perfect. And that's the sick part," she revealed.

"I just love a challenge, whether it's a relationship, my career, or my clothing."

Rihanna also admitted that she purposefully chooses outfits so people can wonder "what the hell is she wearing?"

But the stunning singer said that until recently she was not able to be herself because of restrictions put on her adding that she couldn't even wear "pink or red lipstick".

The star, who is renowned for her attention-grabbing garb, says she longed to show her "sassy" self during the initial stages of her music career.

"In the beginning of my career, it was really strict for me", she explained. "We had a young fan base, and they were trying to keep me fresh. But I really just wanted to be myself. I wanted to be sassy, the attitude, all the things that I am."

Rihanna says having the title of role model is one that she feels is sometimes too heavy a burden to bear. The songstress, who regularly performs raunchy on-stage sets, insists the responsibility of young fans looking up to her is sometimes too much.

"I want to set the right example and, at the same time, live my life. I feel like pop stars can't be rock stars anymore because they have to be role models, and it takes the fun out of it for us, because we just want to have fun with art," she said. (C) Cover Media
