(Cover) - EN Star Style - Rihanna has debuted a new hairstyle, ditching her edgy short look for long flowing locks.

The Barbados-born singer is a firm fashion fan, and enjoys shocking the public with new looks. When she first shot to fame she sported long dark hair, but caused shockwaves by getting it cut short in 2008. Since then she has showcased an ever-changing array of looks, including a black long-fringed crop, a blonde Mohican and her latest bright red shoulder-length look.

The star has now stepped out with yet another new style, adding chest-length extensions into her tresses. Her previously tousled hair now hangs dead straight, and she no longer has a fringe.

She debuted the look in New York yesterday, choosing to draw attention to her flame-faired locks by teaming them with a black outfit. She later took to the stage for MTV in Times Square in one of her trademark raunchy outfits, pairing a bold jacket with a leotard and tights.

Rihannas new album is called Loud, and thats one of the reasons she is so in love with her red hair colour. She enjoys shocking with her style choices, but in recent months she has toned down the kind of clothes she wears as she was getting bored with the big-shoulder look. Instead, shes decided to show her personality through her tresses.

"It feels really loud and liberating," she recently said. "You know, it is not a very quiet colour and it grabs a lot of attention, I have to say, whether it is positive or negative. But I love it. I don't know why. I really love it. It is really expressive and daring. It is also fun to have your hair be a ridiculous colour. It is so out of the ordinary" (C) Cover Media
