(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Robbie Williams says Take That robbed him of his voice.
The singer left the British boy band in 1995 after falling out with bandmate Gary Barlow. The group split up the following year, reuniting in 2005, with Robbie joining the fold in 2010.
The 37-year-old singer has revealed that he had initial doubts about returning, due to the mental scars inflicted by his ejection first time around.
I think every persons job, either feeds them or takes from them. Take That, for me, the first time, took from me. It gave me money, it gave me a standard of living, but it robbed me of my voice, he told British newspaper, The Sunday Times.
However, Robbie admits he has managed to put these misgivings aside to make a triumphant return. He credits being older as one of the reasons why their union can now thrive.
To come back as an older adult, on my guard a bit and wiser, I know it sounds melodramatic, but its like theres this thing up there, and we can all give to it and get back from it, and it shines into us, and we can all grow from it or it will just rob us again, and well leave, with all this s**t that we didnt say or didnt do, he reflected.
