Robert De Niro: I can go incognito

4th March 2011

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Robert De Niro has revealed no one recognises him when he goes to the theatre.

Even though the actor is one of the most famous faces in Hollywood history and has won a host of awards, he claims he can still go incognito in public.

Robert has refused to reveal how he manages to avoid attracting attention when he is out, but insists he usually manages to enjoy stage productions without being bothered by fans.

I just go to the theatre. Nobody bothers me. I dont even get recognised, he has revealed in an interview with Esquire. I do it in a certain way.

The 67-year-old star has enjoyed a lengthy career, appearing in iconic movies including Taxi Driver, Raging Bull, Goodfellas and The Deer Hunter.

Even though the actor is close to turning 70, he has no plans to reduce his work schedule. Robert still feels passionate about moviemaking and although he likes to relax in between films, he insists he has a good balance between work and pleasure.

I might like to do things that are more retiring. Like sit in a place and just look at the view. Take a nice walk. Have a coffee. But not retire, he explained. As long as Im enjoying what Im doing, why retire?

The Hollywood legend also enjoys giving advice to people starting out in the film industry. Robert believes it is important to stand out from the crowd and if you are memorable during auditions, you will eventually find the right role.

I always tell actors when they go in for an audition, Dont be afraid to do what your instincts tell you. You may not get the part, but people will take notice, he added. (C) Cover Media
