Robin Gibb planning tour'

27th November 2011

Robin Gibb is planning to go on tour with his brother Barry to thank fans for their well wishes.

The Bee Gees star has been experiencing ill health for some time and last week it was reported he is suffering from liver cancer. The 61-year-old who has been looking increasingly frail lately - hasn't confirmed the diagnosis but took to his blog to explain he is recovering well.

Robin's brother Barry has now apparently suggested they arrange to play some shows once Robin is back to full health.

"Barry came out with it and said, Look, why don't we go on the road again?' and Rob just grinned and replied, Great, when can we go?'" the siblings' former record company boss David English, who was visiting Robin at the time, said.

"We said, We need to get you a bit stronger and better first. We will have to feed you up none of this vegan nonsense with herbal tea.' I think it was the best medicine we could have given him."

Robin has been inundated with well wishes since it was claimed he has cancer. As well as missives from fans, he's received letters and cards from other stars such as Eric Clapton and Ringo Starr.

They have been a great source of support for both Robin and his wife Dwina.

"The response from fans, members of the public and famous people has been incredible. It has really touched Robin and his wife Dwina," a source told British newspaper The Sunday Mirror.

"Robin has many famous friends and he appreciates them rallying round. It helps him take his mind off the difficult battle he faces. Most of all it is the public who have really moved Robin and Dwina.

"It is not just messages on the internet but the cards, presents and letters. So many people have taken the time to send the messages... they have been inundated. It is overwhelming. Some fans turned up at the house to deliver cards."
