Rosie O'Donnell has announced that she and fiance Michelle Rounds will be expanding their family.

The 49-year-old comedienne became engaged to the financial headhunter last month.

Rosie, who has four children with ex-wife Kelli Carpenter, has revealed that Michelle is actively attempting to become a mother.

"She's trying to get pregnant," O'Donnell told her guest Dr Mehmet Oz on her talk programme The Rosie Show Friday.

The couple hope that Michelle will be expecting very soon.

"Michelle is seeing a fertility doctor," a source told Us Weekly. "She is really excited and they cannot wait to add to their family. Rosie goes to all of her doctors' appointments with her and is really supportive. She isn't pregnant yet but they hope as soon as possible she will be."

The pair are also eager to wed.

Rosie and Michelle are planning to get married on Long Island, New York sometime this year.

They will host an intimate ceremony that will involve Rosie's children Blake, Parker, Chelsea and Vivienne.

"[Rosie] is thinking of having her brother walk her down the aisle. She wants a proper, traditional wedding this time around," the source detailed. "Michelle will say vows to the kids as well as to Rosie."

Rosie and Michelle met in a New York City Starbucks coffee shop last year.

Rosie divorced from her ex-wife Kelli in 2010 after three years of marriage.
