Ryan Seacrest thought the fight between Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey was "intense".

A video of the two new American Idol judges caught in a screaming match during a taping of the reality show's auditions recently surfaced.

Idol host Ryan Seacrest thought the argument got out of control.

"It got heated between Nicki and Mariah," Ryan revealed during his morning On Air With Ryan Seacrest radio show.

"It was intense! I'll be honest with you It went far last night. It did get intense."

In the video, Nicki can be heard shouting expletives at co-judge Mariah saying, "I told them, I'm not f**king putting up with her f**king highness over there."

But Ryan thinks the differences between the women can actually turn out to be a good thing for the singing competition.

"These are all very different individuals with different perspectives and different opinions that provide for interesting conversation and dialogue and feedback for the contestants," Ryan shared.

Nicki and Mariah share the judging panel with country crooner Keith Urban.
