Salman funds kidney transplant operation of co-star's brother

6th February 2014
Bollywood Superstar Salman Khan might be having an ugly past with sour break-up sagas and some cases of law infringement pending against him, but that certainly doesn't dampen his philanthropist spirit.

The actor who has been splurging heavily on charity from last couple of years, recently donated yet another handsome sum to someone in need.

This time it was not for an NGO but for a co-star and his family.

Santosh Shukla who played a negative role in Salman's recently released 'Jai Ho' was undergoing a personal dilemma when Salman came to his rescue.

Santosh's brother Ashutosh recently underwent a kidney transplant operation in Delhi and it was for this that Salman churned out Rs. 5 lakh without the former even asking for it.

"Bhai got to know about my dilemma during the shoot from someone. He spoke to me and asked me to focus on my work. Without me requesting him, he offered to donate 5 lakhs for my brother's operation. He called up my mother to check on her. He also appreciated my bhabhi for her brave gesture of donating her kidney to her husband (my brother). The operation went well. Ashutosh has not been discharged as yet but after he gets better, I would want him to meet Salman bhai. We can't thank him enough," said Santosh.

Like Salman says in his film, "Thank you mat bolo, instead teen logo ki maddat karo" (Don’t Say thank you help 3 more instead).
