Bollywood star Salman Khan who was held in Jodhpur Central Jail for 1998 Kankani blackbuck poaching case had a hearing for the same. It was held by a district court in Rajasthan on Tuesday 17th July following Salman's plea in the matter.

The hearing on Khan's plea continued for around three hours in the pre-lunch and post-lunch hours in the court of District and was headed by Sessions Judge Chandra Kumar Sonagara. The district court in Rajasthan heard a plea by Khan against the case and fixed August 3 and 4 for further hearing.

The court found Salman guilty for shooting and killing two blackbucks in Kankani village near Jodhpur on the night of October 1, 1998, while he was shooting there for the film 'Hum Saath Saath Hain'. His co-stars Saif Ali Khan, Tabu, Neelam and Sonali Bendre, who were also accused of the same were all acquitted by the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate, Jodhpur Rural. 

But the 'Tiger Zinda Hai' actor spent two nights in jail and was finally granted bail on April 7. The court sentenced him five years imprisonment on April 5 by the CJM court in the case. The court's decisions so far have faced a huge outrage from both the Bishnoi community, who were the witness tribes of the area where the incident took place.
