Surat witnessed the dance performance of two popular actresses, Sameera Reddy and Mahima Choudhary when they performed Garba during the last day of the nine-day long Navaratri festival.

Thousands thronged to catch a glimpse of the stars dancing to the tunes of traditional and Bollywood music. Sameera said, "Performing the dance is an integral part of the celebrations of the Navaratri. I am happy to be here."

She added, "I am a great lover of festivals and I just admire Navaratri. It is held in honour of the nine incarnations of Goddess Durga, celebrated over nine days.... And Surat is a great place, I must say."

While Mahima said, "Performing in front of encouraging audience is a great experience. Sameera is a good friend and I am happy to be present at the Navaratri festival with her."
