December 15, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): South Indian actor and director Samudrakani has been constantly swapping roles for the past couple of films in his career. In fact, Samudrakani and Sasikumar have been on an exchanging spree this year and have both tasted success in the fields of acting and directing. According to the latest reports from the Kollywood film industry, Samudrakani has been roped in to play a cop in Sasikumars latest directorial venture Eesan.
In a statement to the media, Samudrakani says that though Kollywood films have seen many a cop over the years, his cop act comes with a difference because it deals with the humane side of a policemans character rather than only his professional side. Samudrakani is of the opinion that cops are disliked in our country because of their dishonest nature, but his character in Eesan will make it evident that cops can also be a friend to the common man and the profession can also be loved.
This is the third film that Samudrakani and Sasikumar are working in in a row. While Sasikumar was the director in the 2008 release Subramaniapuram, there was a role reversal in the 2009 Tamil film Nadodigal. Now again the duo is back with Eesan where Samudrakani has again agreed to step into the actors shoes. It is to be remembered that the actor director has always delivered a hit, therefore expectations from Eesan are also sky high. Quiz Samudrakani whether he is worried about this fact, and pat comes the reply that he has never thought about success prior to giving his nod for a project.
