Sandra Bullock is reportedly adopting a second child.

The Oscar winner has filed papers for a brother or sister for two-year-old son Louis, according to RadarOnline.

Sandra is a single mother to Louis following her divorce from Jesse James. She has planned to expand her brood since adopting her son in 2010, a source revealed.

"Sandra has always planned to have more than one child," a source said.

"She feels that now is a good time for a new baby to be welcomed into the family. Louis is a little young to understand that he is going to be a big brother, but Sandy is trying to get him ready for the transition."

The source adds that Sandra has filed the adoption papers now as it may take a long time to process. She has no preference on the sex of the baby.

"It took her about 18 months to finally get Louis, and there is no time table as to when she will get the second child," the insider said.

"Sandy's adoption lawyer has told her it could take up to a year to complete the process. She doesn't care whether or not it's a boy or girl. She just wants a healthy a baby."

The 47-year-old While You Were Sleeping star had originally planned to adopt Louis with Jesse. However, they divorced in 2010 following claims he had affairs with several women.
