The singer usually appears expertly dressed on stage and is famously obsessed with very expensive designer watches. His wife, the supermodel Heidi Klum, is also a style connoisseur.

However, the British musician admits he has not always been surrounded by such immaculate clothing.

I suppose if I had to choose something Id say flares - I had a denim pair back in the 70s, he told Closer magazine when asked about his biggest faux pas.

But the 47-year-old had to be pushed on to tell this embarrassing tale, as at first he claimed there are no duds in his collection. The star argued that he is too demanding to allow mistakes to happen, and that he instead weighs up the resourceful merits of each purchase.

Nothing I dont have anything bad because Ive got exacting tastes. I like things that have artistic value, Seal explained. (C) Cover Media
