(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Selena Gomez doesnt want to star in anything too off the rail at the moment.

The 18-year-old appears in Disney programme Wizards of Waverly Place, playing witch Alex Russo. She is also a successful singer, releasing tracks on her own and as part of group Selena Gomez & the Scene.

The star hopes to have a lengthy career, and has started thinking about the sort of role shed like. She doesnt plan to stray too far from what she knows at the moment, although that might change in the future.

I don't feel as if I would do anything too off the rail at the moment, she said. I just hope that I can grow into those things and do dramas and things that are different, but still stuff that I am comfortable portraying.

Part of the reason Selena is content with her current career is she doesnt feel old enough to play more harrowing parts. She cant believe shes already 18, and isnt ready to land more grown-up roles yet.

I am definitely interested in being challenged as an actress, she said. I wouldn't do anything that I wouldn't feel comfortable doing. I am 18, but I feel as if I am 15, so I am still really young and my heart is extremely young. (C) Cover Media
