Shah Rukh Khan : Beyond a romantic hero

From 'DDLJ' to 'Dilwale', Shah Rukh Khan won the crown of a romantic hero in Bollywood. Opening his arms wide to his ladylove on screen as she runs to him marked this as his signature move.

But this didn't keep him away from trying the other genres too. Soon he will be seen in Maneesh Sharma's 'Fan' and Rahul Dholakia's 'Raees' which are not even an inch close to his romantic hero image.

On his 50th birthday we take a look at his career where he chose to break his chocolate boy image and fit into another mould.  

'Baazigar', 'Darr', 'Don'-series

Do we really need to explain it any further now? A guy, who is hellbent on revenge just changed his image of the boy-next-door with these movies. However, the commendable part of these roles are he still walked away with the credit of being an quintessential hero of these movies.

'Swades', 'My Name Is Khan', 'Chak De India'

SRK made India proud all over the world with these films. These films had high patriotic values those got appreciated and won accolades in prestigious film festivals.

'Main Hoon Na', 'Chennai Express', 'Happy New Year'

Soon after all the conventional cinemas, he got hooked to 'Rom-com' and massively proved to be successful it at. These films enjoyed a humungous success at the box office too. Khan will continue with it in his next 'Dilwale' too.

'Ra.One'

Khan became the super hero of Bollywood with his sci-fi flick 'Ra.One'. Film got mixed reviews, it received a lot of positive reviews overseas.
