The King of Bollywood was honored at the 20th UNESCO Awards for his notable contribution towards the betterment of the society.
Bollywood’s new superhero Shah Rukh Khan must be on cloud nine these days… After the success of his latest superhero flick ‘Ra. One’, now Shah Rukh has bagged a special award ‘Pyramide con Marni’ at the 20th UNESCO Awards in Germany. Incidentally, Shah Rukh is the first Indian to be honoured with this award. SRK was honored with the award for his impeccable contribution towards society especially for his initiative in the educational improvement for kids.
While at the event SRK also had a candid conversation with Hollywood action star Jet Li who shared the award with Shah Rukh. Adds a source, “Humbled with the honor, Shah Rukh was seen signing autographs on the red carpet as well. Having received the award, SRK met Jet Li and told him how he and his son were great fans of the star. The stars even partied together after the event.”
Reportedly, Shah Rukh was asked to be a part of the event in March this year by the Director General of UNESCO but due to his prior commitments to Ra. One, the actor couldn't confirm his availability till October.
SRK later stated that spreading education has been his core motive since years and he does whatever he can to enlighten the kids with the power of knowledge.
