(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Shia LaBeouf says hooking up with Megan Fox "was what it was".

The 25-year-old US actor is promoting new movie Transformers: Dark of the Moon, where Rosie Huntington-Whiteley stars in the female lead role. Hollywood beauty Megan appeared in the first two Transformers movies with Shia, although was fired for reportedly comparing director Michael Bay to German dictator Adolf Hitler. Shia has now confessed that he enjoyed a kiss with Megan on the set of the franchise, although hasn't given many details.

When asked by the August issue of Details magazine if he and Megan hooked up, Shia reportedly nodded to agree.

"Look, you're on the set for six months, with someone who's rooting to be attracted to you, and you're rooting to be attracted to them," explained the star.

"I never understood the separation of work and life in that situation. But the time I spent with Megan was our own thing, and I think you can see the chemistry on screen."

The movie hunk - who is currently dating Vietnamese-American stylist Karolyn Pho was asked whether Megan was with Brian Austin Green at the time, or if they had been on a "break". The pair had a famously on/off relationship before tying the knot last year.

"I don't know, man. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know " replied Shia. "It was what it was."

Shia also described going on a date with 23-year-old actress-and-singer Hilary Duff as "probably the worst date either of us have ever had". He had more positive words for British actress Carey Mulligan, who he split from last year.

"I still love her," he gushed. "I think she's a f**king awesome person and an incredible actress. We're still pals. I wouldn't take any of it back, and I don't think she would either. It just ran its course." (C) Cover Media
