It is nothing new in Kollywood for 'once-upon-a-time' popular actresses to do mother and sister roles, later in their career. The latest to join the list is Sukanya, who was a part of many super hits like Chinna Gounder and Walter Vetrivel.

"Sukanya will play mother to Ganesh Venkatraman in Chandra. She will play the role of a queen engrossed in modern values," said a press statement from the movie's publicist.

Director Roopa says, "Sukanya looks too good and I pat myself for selecting her. She is very devoted".  

Chandra has Shriya Saran in the title role, playing a princess!

It is a love story that revolves around a last generation of princesses in India. Vivek and Vijayakumar perform supporting roles for the film.
