Every time a new Tamil film starring one of the top heroes is announced, the names of several gorgeous Bollywood babes who might play the lead opposite the star are dropped. This time it's actress Sonam Kapoor's name.
The "Delhi 6" star has been approached for films featuring Ajmal, Simbu (for the "Dabanng" remake) and recently, for Hari’s "Singham 2" that has Suriya in the lead.
But none could get the b’town girl to sign on. Now grapevine has it that the hot daughter of Anil Kapoor is being considered for a film to be directed by Venkat Prabhu, which also has Suriya as the lead protagonist.
Sources say that the film, to be shot in 3D format, will be an action-entertainer and that Sonam, with her girl-next-door looks, will be ideal to play the lead opposite the "Ghajini" star.
An insider reveals that Prabhu is keen on roping in Sonam since she looks extremely good on screen and is a performer as well.
The filmmaker, who is fine-tuning his script, is expected to meet Suriya once the latter returns from abroad, and freeze the final copy.
There are also rumours that Prabhu has signed a movie with Mukta Entertainment, the newly formed company of ace Producer Mukta Srinivasan and his nephew Govindh. The hotshot director will start this project after Suriya’s.
