Tamera Mowry-Housley has announced she is pregnant.

The Sister Sister star tied the knot with husband Adam Housley, 40, last May but had said they did not want to immediately have children.

But the 33-year-old actress said they were delighted to be starting their family.

"Adam and I are excited about having a baby and the blessing that he or she will bring to our lives and to our family and friends," Tamera told People magazine. "We can't wait to meet this little miracle!"

The announcement comes ten months after Tamera's twin sister Tia welcomed her first child Cree who said she "knew it" when told of the happy news and was "beyond thrilled."

Tamera said they had a change of heart about having a baby so soon into her marriage after an "amazing" trip to South Africa.

"It's just so beautiful there and you get a whole new perspective on life, the things that really matter," Tamera shared. "Adam and I looked at each other and said, Why wait?'"

The second season of Tia & Tamera returns on June 11.
