December 28, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): The hammer of law has finally come down on Amber Portwood, who is one of the casts of MTVs reality series Teen Mom. The teenager has been arrested on Monday on charges of domestic violence.

Portwood was seen hitting her ex-fianc Gary Shirley in an episode of Teen Mom. She was repeatedly hitting her toddler Leahs father Gary that prompted the local officials to start an investigation in September.

She has been booked into a Madison County, Ind jail and will be on a 24-hour hold and the bail amount has been set $5000. The teenager mom Portwood, who has turned 20 now, is facing two counts of domestic battery charges and one count of neglect of a dependent (Leah). All her crimes come under Class D felonies. The teen mom may face three years of jail term and a fine of about $10,000, if she is convicted.

Amber hit Gary in front of their daughter Leah, which took her in worst position. She has reportedly surrendered herself voluntarily. The young mother was caught on camera slapping, punching and choking Gary. Portwood welcomed more trouble when she attacked Gary for the second time and threatened his new girlfriend.

The situation took this wild turn when Amber asked Gary about his new girlfriend Ashley. She was furious to know that Gary has not broken up with Ashley and she claimed that Gary sent her flowers saying that he is not talking to Ashley. She was almost hitting Ashley for showing interest in Gary. However, Gary did not file any formal complaint.

Hope the teen mom understands her responsibility and turns cool after coming out of prison.
