(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Teri Hatcher was happy to take part in a recent triathlon because she looked good in a wetsuit.
The actress swam in the Nautica Malibu Triathlon yesterday, where she was raising money for Children's Hospital Los Angeles. Teri has previously discussed how much she wants to help the medical centre, and has been particularly moved by three-year-old Sophia Rothman, who receives treatment for Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis there.
Even though the water was cold, nothing can compare to what little Sophia is going through. I came out here today to help bring awareness of this disease. Events like this are one of many ways celebrities can bring awareness for different causes. Anything I can do to help, count me in, she told RadarOnline. I look good don't I?
Teri swam half a mile in the Pacific Ocean in 26 minutes, but didnt take part in the run or cycling part of the race. She explained she wasnt as fit as she was when she raced last year, but doesnt care as she just wants to help sick kids get better.
I'm a far cry from the shape I was in in 2009, a year ago, when I complete the entire triathlon, she said. I may be slower this year, but I wont give up on kids in need.
Sophia, who has had problems with her eyes, was there to welcome Teri out of the sea. We're so thankful for Teri and her support, her mother said. Teri helped save our daughter's vision. (C) Cover Media
