The Killers roaring ahead with album

22nd June 2011

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - The Killers already have "four or five" songs written for their new album.

The band reunited last month following a hiatus and frontman Brandon Flowers has now revealed they are enjoying the song-writing process. Even though they have only been back together for a matter of weeks, the rockers have been inspired to pen several tracks to be considered for the new record.

"When something's good and we feel like it's going to be a keeper, we put it up on a board and we have four or five up there right now," Brandon said in an interview with BBC Radio 1. "Those are things that are strong."

The Killers' last musical offering was Day & Age in 2008, and they decided to pursue individual projects last year, with Brandon releasing solo album Flamingo. However, the band are now happy to have regrouped and are excited about going back into the recording studio.

"We've had a few breakthroughs and so it's exciting to have those moments again and to reminisce about great moments that we've had together," Brandon added. "It's nice, the idea of putting something new out again."

The group are set to perform a series of live shows this summer. Brandon admits he still gets nervous before concerts, but feels better as soon as he sees a welcoming crowd.

"Once that first song is out of the way and you realise they're actually there because they like you, that's when I really start to enjoy myself," he explained. "I'm thankful I haven't got used to it yet." (C) Cover Media
