Oscar winning actor and producer, Sir Thomas Sean Connery best known for playing Agent 007 James Bond turns 82 years old. The former James Bond was born in the city of Edinburgh, Scotland on August 25, 1930. Rising from humble working class roots in his native Scotland, Sean Connery soared to international stardom in the 1960s as the original James Bond, the ubersuave British secret agent created by author Ian Fleming.

During the three decades following Bond's debut, Connery showed that he had more to offer than tuxedos and martinis (not Stirred) but 'shaken'. Over the years Connery has proven to be one of Hollywood's most enduring talents, adapting to a wide variety of genres with ease and enjoying a longevity rarely seen in Hollywood.

The legendary actor has acted in popular classic like Goldfinger, The Untouchables, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, Medicine Man, The Avengers  and his recent movies are Entrapment, Finding Forrester, The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen among many others.

In April 2011, Connery's publicist announced that the actor has retired from making public appearances. Connery is currently a supporter of Rangers FC after supporting Celtic for a long time. Speaking about his change in allegiance he said he always supports the team that plays best and there is no religious reason behind it.
