Tiger Woods: Fatherhood is tough

17th March 2011

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Tiger Woods has spoken out about how his family life has changed, admitting fatherhood is tough but enjoyable.

The golf star finalised his divorce from Swedish model Elin Nordegren in August last year, with the pair splitting after he was accused of having numerous affairs during their relationship. They have two children together, three-year-old daughter Sam and son Charlie, who is two.

Tiger has given an interview about his life after the end of his marriage, admitting that although he loves the time he spends with his kids, it can be difficult to keep up with them.

"I'm present with my kids, he said during an interview with Good Morning America. And that's important, because to be with them each and every time I'm with them, to feel that and be connected to them and to see their joys on their faces, whether it's Sam dancing and creating things and colouring and rearranging furniture and all that stuff

"It's work, there's no doubt. It's work. It's tough but enjoyable."

Tiger is widely regarded as one of the best golfers in the history of the sport and is known for his impressive work ethic. However, the 35-year-old star has been forced to reassess his life after personal scandals dented his reputation. He claims his priorities have since shifted and he is spending more time with his children.

"Just came back to what's most important, went to family," he replied when asked how his life has changed. "And that's as simple as that, family is first. And that's what it was when I was growing up. My family, my mom and dad were always there, and they were always present for me. And that's how I am with my kids now."

Even though he is committed to his family, Tiger also wants success in his career. He is determined to reclaim his status as the number one golfer in the world and feels confident he can return to winning ways.

"I've been down this road before, people. I mean, that's what people don't understand, he added. And I know what I'm working on, I believe what I'm working on, and when it starts getting going, we're going to have some fun." (C) Cover Media
