(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Jessica Simpson's ex-boyfriend Tony Romo is going to be a father.

The Dallas Cowboys quarterback announced that he and wife Candice Crawford are expecting their first child.

The football player revealed the good news during a visit to a high school in Texas today when one of the students asked if he had any children.

"Um, no, I don't have any kids," Tony said before adding, "I actually have one on the way. My wife is pregnant."

Tony and Candice married in a lavish ceremony back in May and are said to be delighted at the impending arrival of their baby.

Candice is the 24-year-old sister of Gossip Girl star Chace Crawford.

The news comes as Jessica continues to show off what appears to be an ever increasing baby bump although she has yet to confirm that she is pregnant with her first child with fianc Eric Johnson.

Tony previously dated country star Carrie Underwood and actress Sophia Bush.

He infamously broke up with Jessica on her 29th birthday back in 2009 after two years together. (C) Cover Media
