When asked about his relationship status, Varun was quick to answer, "I didn't know my love life was so talked about. All these girls are my friends, including Shraddha, who I have known since childhood."
"It's a school mentality, wherein if you're spotted with a girl, she's your girlfriend. It's stupid. If people talk about me because I'm dating someone, I'd rather not be an actor," Varun told to a leading tabloid.
Claiming that he refrains from talking about his personal life in order to avoid controversies, Varun said, "I'm focussing on my work. I want people to know me for my films and the characters I play. The girls I'm linked with are as new as me and even they are going through the same grind. We're all friends, so we laugh about it."
