Ace director Vetrimaran one of the pathbreakers in Tamil cinema who made the national award winning "Aadukalam" is shifting to producing films.

After directing two critically acclaimed films "Pollathavan" and "Aadukalam" he has launched a production house that has been named Grass Root Film Company.

The first film to be produced under this banner will be a Siddharth starrer to be directed by his long-time assistant Manigandan. The film will be written and scripted by Vetri who will also be producing it.

The film has the working title, "NH 4" and will be set against the backdrop of the National Highways leading to Bangalore.   Vetrimaran’s favourite actor Kishore is playing a pivotal role in the film.

Velraj is the cinematographer and editing will be by Kishore. A hunt for the leading lady is going on for the project and shooting will commence in the first week of March.
