'Tumhari Sulu' actress Vidya Balan is roped in for Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao's (NTR) an actor turned politician and a famous figure in South. Vidya is reported to play his wife Basavatarakam who was fond of classical Indian music.
Now the actress is prepping up to learn harmonium just to get the authenticity of the character. The 39-year-old is learning the instrument from composer Nitin Shankar who has worked with late RD Burman, Jatin-Lalit and Anu Malik.
Speaking about this Nitin said,"Her character plays the harmonium in two songs in the film and Vidya wanted to make it look convincing onscreen. I have known her family for a while now as they are all interested in music, so they reached out to me." Vidya even shared an Instagram story that showcases her learning the harmonium.
The composer even informed that four sessions were conducted in the month of July and Vidya is a fast learner, was playing in scale by the last lecture. He further adds,"She's planning to continue to learn music even after she wraps up the shoot and even plans to buy a harmonium. She also sings well. When I asked about her favourite song, she picked "Beeti Na Bitai Raina" from Parichay which reflects her knowledge of music."
NTR was honoured with the Padma Shri, the fourth highest civilian award of India, for his contribution to cinema in 1968.
