Vidya Balan plays a fun loving house-wife in 'Tumhari Sulu'

17th October 2017

Vidya Balan features in a brand new 'Saree wali Bhabhi Avatar' and the 'Tumhari Sulu' trailer is an evident proof of it. The two and a half minutes trailer focuses on Vidya's character Sulochana nicknamed (Sulu), a typical housewife who is a regular radio listener and keeps participating the contests of the radio shows and wins gifts like phone, pressure cooker etc.

Now Sulu wants to make it big and passionately wants to become a Radio Jockey. She meets the radio station producer, played by Neha Dhupia, who gives a late-night slot to Sulu where she becomes 'Saree waali bhabhi' and engages the listeners with her smooth and sensuous voice. However, she gets in an unwanted mess as her husband makes her realize that she doesn't give enough time to her family.

Vidya has perfectly fit in the shoes of Sulu in this slice of life film. A graceful determined house-wife with a good sense of humour. The character of Sulu is quite relatable to many of the Indian housewives and it is Vidya who makes it happen with her playful caring character that just entices us to watch this Suresh Triveni directed comedy.

The film also features a reprised version of the hit song, Hawa Hawai. The original song appeared in the 1987 film Mr. India. Other than Vidya Balan in the lead, the film also features Manav Kaul as Sulu's husband and renowned RJ Malishka, as Albeli Anjali. The film is set to hit the theatres on November 17.
