(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Will.i.am thinks breaking up with someone is easy but its working through issues which is tough.

The Black Eyed Peas rocker is hesitant to talk about his personal life, but admits going through some hard times romantically in the past. He tried hard to make one specific relationship work, but thinks that was actually tougher than if he had let go and walked away.

I last cried about a year and a half ago. I was in a bad situation with a girl. I was in a bit of a mess emotionally. I cant go into the details because thats not fair. But I couldnt understand how we had got into such a bad state and I cried, he explained. Leaving someone is easy in comparison to working it out. When you walk away you dont cry because you are making a decision and you have power, OK, you may reminisce and feel sad. But when things go wrong and you try and work it out, thats harder.

Will.i.am gets bored with the constant speculation about his private life. He is friends with British singer Cheryl Cole, and when she split from her now ex-husband Ashley Cole they were rumoured to be dating.

The star insists they are nothing more than good buddies, explaining there is a surprising part of her he is a particular fan of.
