(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Zoe Saldana cannot abide "lazy actors".

The Hollywood star appears in upcoming action drama Colombiana, which tells the story of a young lady who grows up to become an assassin after seeing her parents get murdered in Bogota as a child.

Zoe portrays lead character Cataleya Restrepo in the Olivier Megaton-directed picture, and fully embraced the violent aspects of her role.

"I loved it," replied the star when asked by Empire magazine about getting to grips with machine guns for the part.

"It does get exhausting, but that's the responsibility you have to bring this character to life.

"There's nothing worse than when you go to see a movie and you watch a lazy actor playing a part. So when I say yes to doing a film like this, I'm saying yes to everything it entails."

Colombiana was co-written and produced by acclaimed French moviemaker Luc Besson, which Zoe was thrilled about. The talented actress has confessed in the past to being a little geeky, and admits working with Luc made her feel far cooler.

"I just did a film that was produced by Luc Besson. I feel really cool, for the geek that I am," she laughed. (C) Cover Media
